BayDamping® is a polyurethane synthetic rubber elastomer material that does not contain any solvents or plasticizers. It can be applied to concrete, metal, or plastic surfaces, forming comprehensive adhesion to the flooring. This provides impact sound insulation for floors while also offering waterproofing capabilities. It prevents water from the cement and sand during the installation of tiles or stones from leaking through cracks in the flooring to lower levels.
When sprayed, it generates fine independent bubbles, utilizing a closed-cell foam structure. The gas pockets are individually separated and do not communicate with each other, resembling numerous tennis balls, providing support. The gas is compressible, allowing for energy absorption and vibration reduction. It has excellent resilience, with a finished density ranging from 0.4 to 0.6. This density is within the optimal range for a balance between vibration reduction and support.
The density of sound insulation materials is inversely proportional to energy absorption and vibration reduction. In contrast, energy absorption and vibration reduction are directly proportional to impact sound insulation. Additionally, density and support (local compressive strength) are directly proportional. Thus, the six factors—bubble quantity, foam structure, density, energy absorption, vibration reduction, impact sound insulation, and support—contribute to the excellent impact sound insulation performance of BayDamping®.
