Cover Spalling

Insufficient cover allows moisture, chlorides, rainwater, and harmful gases to enter concrete and corrode rebar. Corrosion expansion opens the cover and accelerates deterioration.
Exterior cover spalling may also bring down plaster or tiles, creating pedestrian safety risks.

Honeycomb

Poor vibration during placement can cause honeycombs. Incorrect repair can lead to spalling, safety risks, and reduced durability.

Wet Crack

Cracks let moisture, rainwater, and harmful gases enter concrete. Proper repair helps block intrusion.
Wet cracks often occur in underground structures with continuous water pressure.

Large Crack

Large cracks are often seismic or design-related shear cracks over 0.3 mm, reaching rebar depth or penetrating the section.
Repair and strengthening are different tasks and must be judged on site.

Small Crack

Small cracks, often under 0.3 mm, may reduce effective cover and lead to corrosion, cover spalling, and exposed rebar.
