Floor Impact Sound Insulation / BayDamping®
BayDamping® is a spray-applied system that reduces residential floor impact noise. It fully bonds to the slab and supports waterproofing, crack resistance, and long-term compression durability. Floor insulation should withstand 20–30 years of walking, cleaning, and furniture movement.

Floor impact noise often comes from walking, cleaning, or moving furniture. These impacts create vibration that travels through the slab or structure, so insulation must reduce vibration at the shortest path.
BayDamping® is a polyurethane artificial rubber elastomer without added solvents or plasticizers. It can be applied to concrete, metal, or plastic, fully bonds to the floor slab, reduces impact noise, and adds waterproofing.
The layer is applied on the structural slab before mortar leveling and finishes such as tile, wood, or stone. Sound reduction, bonding strength, repeated compression durability, and seepage resistance are all important.
In high-use areas, 2,000 steps per day equals about 730,000 compressions per year and 15 million over 20 years. Poor durability may cause deformation, dents, or finish material problems.
BayDamping® forms fine independent closed-cell bubbles. They provide support and compress to absorb energy and reduce vibration. A density of about 0.35–0.45 balances vibration reduction, support, and sound insulation.
BayDamping® is not just an underfloor layer. It is a spray-applied system combining full bonding, closed-cell foam, rebound support, waterproofing, crack resistance, and long-term compression durability.
BayDamping® is spray-applied, fully bonded to the floor slab, and provides waterproofing.

Key questions about sound reduction, durability, and waterproofing.
BayDamping® is a polyurethane artificial rubber elastomer without added solvents or plasticizers, suitable for concrete, metal, or plastic surfaces.
After spraying, it fully bonds to the floor and provides sound insulation with waterproofing.
A 5mm layer with quartz tile surface material achieves △Lw 17dB.
An 8mm layer achieves △Lw 20dB, tested by certified acoustic laboratories.
Tests take about 30 minutes and thousands of impacts, but actual floors face millions of impacts over 20–30 years.
In living rooms or kitchens, 2,000 steps per day equals about 730,000 compressions per year and 15 million over 20 years. Poor durability may cause deformation, dents, or tile failure.
The layer is applied on concrete before mortar and finish materials, so waterproofing is important.
BayDamping® helps prevent water from mortar or kitchen use from seeping downstairs, combining sound insulation and waterproofing.
